A picture shared by Azerbaijani users on social media platforms has caused wide discussions. The photo shows Azerbaijani serviceman proposing marriage to a lady in front of the Shusha fortress.

Faktyoxla Lab. has investigated whether the photo that caused the discussion is real.

Fragment 1. If you zoom in on the fortress walls in the background of the photo, it becomes clear that the area shown in the photo is neither the entrance nor the exit of the Shusha fortress.

The constellations of the fortress walls visible in the photo are not in the Shusha fortress.

Fragment 2. Another mistake we observed in the background is the reverse hanging of the Azerbaijani flag.

Fragment 3. Two wreaths are visible on the fortress walls. There is no custom of hanging a wreath in Azerbaijani traditions.

Fragment 4. The military uniform of the serviceman proposing marriage in the photo is the military uniform of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces. Although the lines on the soldier's uniform and protective helmet are clearly visible, the "blur" of a weapon-like detail is noticeable.

The "blur phenomenon" usually occurs in motion pictures. Considering that the soldier is motionless and the lines of other details are clearly visible, that weapon should also be visible in detail.

For example, in the photo of the girl waiting for the train, the girl is standing motionless and the "blur" is visible because the train is moving fast.

Fragment 5. While the lowest rose in the girl's bouquet has snowflakes on it, no snowflakes are visible on the other one.

Fragment 6. The special forces of the Azerbaijan Army may not be seen in civilian territory in full equipment, with weapons, except for military operations.

The image in question was edited by artificial intelligence. Midjourney is the most famous artificial intelligence website specializing in creating realistic images. Although it is possible to order pictures close to reality on the said website, which are indistinguishable from the original, errors are made that confirm that it is a product of artificial intelligence. For example, the fact that a person has 4 or 6 fingers instead of 5, obvious inaccuracies in the facial features, deformation in the limbs were the details that distinguish the AI product from the real one.

During our investigation, we determined that the image was edited on another AI website. The image was edited on the artificial intelligence website https://getimg.ai/.

Conclusion:

- The photo shared under the title "Azerbaijani serviceman proposed marriage to his beloved lady in Shusha" is not real.

- The image was created through an artificial intelligence website.
