The Armenian telegram channel Bagramyan26 has disseminated information that allegedly its sources from Khankendi report that children with injuries of varying degrees of severity, including in serious condition, were taken to the children’s hospital of the city after shelling by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in Agbulag village in the Askeran district.
Faktyoxla Lab. (Factchecking Lab.)has checked whether this information is correct.
Firstly, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has refuted the information disseminated in the Armenian segment of social networks that units of the Azerbaijani army are allegedly shelling civilian targets. The Ministry of Defense noted that such information is absolutely false and is of a disinformation nature.
“We declare once again that our units do not attack civilians or civilian infrastructure; only legitimate military targets are disabled using high-precision weapons,” the ministry noted.
Secondly, such a recording with reference to the Armenian department of Radio Liberty was shared by the Armenian Telegram channel “Armenian Life”.
In this recording, the Armenian woman says: “I can’t talk, I’m in the basement of the kindergarten,” and the journalist asks: “Are the children in a safe place?” The answer to the question is “yes, yes, the children are in a safe place.”
Thus, the information disseminated by Bagramyan26 and other Armenian media about the shelling of civilian objects by units of the Azerbaijani army is complete lies and disinformation.
