Shoaib Bahman, who is considered to be one of the new generation analysts of the Fars-mullah regime, told Tehran’s NourNews portal that Israel was handing over Azerbaijan’s military information to Armenia. It was reported that almost a month or two months ago, news and information were published in the regional media that Israel had provided military information to the Armenians in exchange for the Armenian opening of its embassy in the occupied territories. “In fact, the leak of the military information of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the access of Armenia to this information due to the Israeli action in the meantime, is the cause of the fire in the current situation in the region,” he said. Faktyoxla Lab. has investigated whether this fact revealed by Bahman is true.

First, a few words about the expert who made the statement.

During our research, it became clear that Shoaib Bahman (born on February 15, 1981 in Tehran), one of the new generation analysts of the Persian-mullah regime, is an expert dealing with Russian and Eurasian issues, international security and energy policy. He received the title of doctor of philosophy in political sciences from the Islamic Azad University, and currently works as the head of the Institute of Strategic Researchers in the Modern World (Jahane-Moassir). Bahman, who heads the department for Russian and Eurasian studies and international energy policy at the Andisheyi-Sazane-Nour Strategic Research Institute, previously worked at the Iran-Eurasian Research Institute. The tweets he shared are enough to paint a psychological portrait of him.

For example, Shoaib Bahman writes in one of his statuses: “Where are those who practiced wrong politics saying, ‘This small republic needs to be calmed down in order to prevent the expansion of relations between Baku and Israel?’ What is the basis for the strategic alliance between Baku and Israel against Iran?”

Analyzing the assassination attempt against MP Fazil Mustafa, the analyst commented on the event as follows: “The anti-Iranian and anti-Shiite representative of the parliament of the Baku Republic, Fazil Mustafa, was killed in front of his house. Expect the strengthening of anti-Iranian and anti-Shia sentiments in Baku.”

Last week, four employees of the Iranian embassy were declared persona non grata by the Azerbaijani government due to their activities that are not compatible with diplomatic status and contradict the Vienna Convention of 1961 on Diplomatic Relations and left the country 48 hours later. Shoaib Bahman distorted the fact and wrote the following comment on Twitter: “Compare the photos of the expelled diplomats of Iran leaving Baku with the photos of Baku diplomats leaving Tehran. There is a difference between a large, ancient and civilized country like Iran and a small country that is constantly falsifying its identity.

Apparently, this person is one of the political mouthpieces of the Persian-mullah regime.

In addition, he has a special love for Armenia, which Bahman does not even need to hide. For example, he writes: "I am in the northwestern borders of the country. Iran's military training is at a high level and some high-ranking commanders are monitoring the situation; although only one battalion is enough to hold the red lines. Iran will not allow its border with Armenia to be cut."

In addition, Shoaib Bahman was one of the speakers at the webinar on Armenian-Iranian bilateral relations and the post-war regional situation at the initiative of the Orbeli Analytical Research Center on October 27, 2021. Bahman delivered a report on "The need for cooperation between Iran and Armenia in the New Caucasus". He insistently said that the new geopolitical situation in the region after the 44-day war is against the interests of his country and said that the idea of Zangazur Corridor should be eliminated immediately. The expert added that Iran should make active investments in Armenia, especially in the Western Zangazur region, and expand security cooperation with Yerevan. (source)

In the course of our research, Shoaib Bahman delivered a report on "Geopolitical uncertainties of the Caucasus after the 44-day war" at a specialized seminar called "Geopolitical equations of the Caucasus, regional and non-regional actors" held at the office of the Armenian Center in Tehran. Bahman stated that the danger of losing Western Zangazur will have very bitter consequences for both Armenia and Iran, and noted that this loss will cause geopolitical risks for both Iran and Armenia in the future. “The last point is that if there are threats in southern Armenia or against Iran, it will definitely take action, as it has done with regard to terrorist movements in Syria. If the Israelis expand further in the military and security fields to exert their influence, they will face a serious response from Iran. This response may be similar to Russia's response to NATO in Ukraine.” (reference)

Now let's get back to that information. The resource on which Bahman claims that his "news and statements are published" is the "Caucasian Truths" website of the Fars-Mullah regime, which operates against Azerbaijan. Looking at the news published on the site, we see that the news article was prepared on October 15, 2012. "An expert on military issues who is one of the media activists close to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia" was indicated as the source of the news. This is the peak of the website's professionalism: "The expert, who did not want to be named, said: "The Israeli side has agreed to give the military secrets of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the relevant centers of Armenia in exchange for the opening of the embassy."

Result:

The thesis "Israel handed over Azerbaijan's military information to Armenia" is false, and this information was published on one of the websites of the Persian-Mullah regime on October 15, 2012.

The fact that Shoaib Bahman often organizes events and that he voices support for Armenia’s position at these events proves that he is a member of the anti-Azerbaijani network.

Shoaib Bahman’s statements show that he cannot come to terms with the realities that have arisen in the region after the 44-day war and insists on keeping pace with Armenia, which Iran has declared as its partner.
