The Armenian segment of social networks and the Armenian media continue to spread information about the “blockade” of Khankendi, the “shortage of food and medicine”. One such post was shared by Marut Vanyan, a blogger living in Khankendi. He wanted to show the "shortage of medicine" by showing empty counters in one of Khankendi pharmacies.

Faktyoxla Lab. has investigated this fact.

The shadows falling on the glass cover of the window shown by Marut Vanyan are striking. If you give that photo a dark effect with ordinary graphic editing techniques, you can easily see what is reflected on the glass.

It can be seen from the photos that there are enough medicines in the opposite display cases reflected in the glass of the empty display case where the photo was taken.

This is not the first time that the “food shortage” lie has been exposed based on what is reflected in the empty shop windows. Thus, in January, Armenian activist Siranush Sargsyan pointed to the “lack of food” by spreading a photo of empty counters in one of the Khankendi stores.

When we checked with the same method, we discovered that a large amount of food products on sale were “hidden”.

It is interesting that this is not the first forgery of Marut Vanyan, who photographed and distributed “empty pharmacy shop windows”. He was trying to make a visual demonstration that the counters of a store were empty and that only turpentine solution was sold.

We exposed Marut Vanyan’s trickery with a little research.

Another attempt of this blogger, who is adept at spreading fake information, but disgraced himself at the first step, was unsuccessful.

He showed a group of people gathered at home by candlelight.

But after this sharing, he could not find an answer to the hundreds of questions asked to him: “Why do they gather by candlelight when the street lamps and lights are on?”

Conclusion:

- Armenian blogger Marut Vanyan’s “empty counters” photo of a pharmacy in Khankendi is manipulation.

- He is known for repeatedly spreading false information.
